Jason Infront of Media about his Brother
Jason, speaking on behalf of the family yesterday, said: “It’s important for mum and dad because the SCG is where Phil made his professional mark. And, of course, to be there for the tribute.
The SCG Trust has provided a suite at the SCG for the family and friends to watch in comfort and privacy on all five days of the final Test against India.
As part of the tributes, a permanent plaque will be placed on a wall in the members reserve outside the home team dressing room to honour Hughes at the ground where he tragically lost his life five weeks ago.Clarke said yesterday: “They have shown incredible strength over the past couple of months and it will be great to see them back out at the ground where they watched their son and brother score so many runs for NSW, South Australia and Australia.
“It’s brilliant that the SCG will honour his memory with a plaque outside the home-team dressing room.”Jason said the family had been comforted by Clarke all along.
Cricket Australia is determined to make it a special occasion for the family, who are understandably still struggling after a difficult Christmas.
Former team mates will spend time with the family as well.
Skipper Steve Smith spoke yesterday of the effect seeing Hughes’s family may have on the players and team mates who were on the field trying to save Hughes’ life after he was felled by a bouncer bowled by Sean Abbott in a Sheffield Shield game.
“Hopefully everyone will be okay,” he said.

Bangladesh Cricket Team for World Cup 2015
Bangladesh have named their 15-man squad for ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.Fast bowler Mashrafe Mortaza has been named as the skipper with Shakib Al Hasan named his deputy.
The World Cup will be played in Australia and New Zealand where the pitches generally favour pace bowlers more than spin. Bangladesh have four fast bowlers in the squad Mortaza, Rubel Hossain, Taskin Ahmed and Al-Amin Hossain.
Abdur Razzak, the experienced left-arm spinner was omitted and is currently nursing a hamstring injury.
Bangladesh are placed in Group A in the tournament along with Australia, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Scotland, New Zealand and England. They play their first match against Afghanistan on February 18 but will also be playing two warm-up games before that.
The squad includes all-rounder Soumya Sarkar who has played just one ODI previously. Sarkar has been in good form in domestic cricket recently which strengthened his case.
Decision of Bangladesh Cricket Board for Selection
Chief selector Faruque Ahmed said that Bangladesh are looking at beating Scotland and Afghanistan and then trying for an upset against the bigger teams. “Every selector wants to build a team that will win the World Cup. We also want to do that but our style is to set a realistic target. We have to win at least two of those matches to have any practical chance of making it to the next round. We have considered form and who can sustain in those conditions,” said Faruque.
“We wanted seasoned campaigners although we haven’t picked Razzak. (Elias) Sunny is a seasoned campaigner who has been playing in top domestic tournaments for the last 10 years. But he did not get chances because of Razzak. Now he is in better form. Also, we thought Razzak’s fielding could be an issue,” reasoned Faruque and also explained the decision to recall batsman Nasir Hossain who was dropped for the series against Zimbabwe recently.
“The return of Nasir will add depth in our batting. Soumya Sarkar is a utility player who can bat at the top order and his medium-pace bowling also can be handy in Australia-New Zealand. We have picked three left-arm spinners in the past, and we have been successful against middle and lower-ranking teams,” added Faruque.
Bangladesh World Cup squad:
Tamim Iqbal, Anamul Haque, Soumya Sarkar, Mominul Haque, Shakib Al Hasan (vc),Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mahmudullah, Nasir Hossain, Sabbir Rahman, Mashrafe Mortaza (c), Taskin Ahmed, Al-Amin Hossain, Rubel Hossain, Arafat Sunny, Taijul Islam. AFP

Saeed Ajmal, Mohammad Hafeez to undertake bowling tests in Chennai
Suspended off-spinners Saeed Ajmal and Mohammad Hafeez will fly out to India later this week to have unofficial tests on their illegal bowling actions.
Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shaharyar Khan says that both players have opted to go to the ICC-accredited biomechanics laboratory in Chennai within the next two days.
If Ajmal and Hafeez get favorable results, Chairman says the PCB will then ask the International Cricket Council to conduct official tests on their bowling actions.
Ajmal was suspended in September while Hafeez was banned from bowling in international cricket earlier this month after his action was found to be illegal during the first test against New Zealand.
Khan hopes both players can still make Pakistan’s squad for the 2015 World Cup, starting Feb. 14.

How Inzimam ul Haq and Wasim Akram were selected in 1992
First, it comes to Wasim, it’s like a dream story for him and a story every school boy dreams of.Wasim was employed in the nets to handle and give practice to the already selected cricket squad. It was noticed that he bowled better than the already selected bowlers, so he was given a place in the team.”
That is how Inzamam-ul-Haq was discovered. He had been a part of a 3-4 year first class cricket career, with no special records. But one scout of mine kept telling me how great a talent Inzimam was. It was my last year in cricket, and after watching Inzamam’s game for just 5 minutes, I told him that he would play in the 1992 World Cup. Selectors criticized me for the next year and told me that I was wasting my time.
They said Inzamam was fat and a failure, but I kept inzi intact and took him to the World Cup. One of the selectors even resigned because of my decision.
